MileWorks Terms of Use
Effective date: November 2, 2026
Last updated: November 2, 2026
These terms are between you and MileWorks LLC ("we", "us"), a New Mexico limited liability company, and cover the MileWorks app and the website at mileworks.app. By using the app you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use it.
The app store's terms apply too
- If you got MileWorks from Apple's App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA", https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/) applies together with these terms. Where the two differ, the Standard EULA wins on what it covers. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its support, and isn't a party to these terms, but Apple and its subsidiaries may enforce them as third-party beneficiaries.
- If you got it from Google Play, Google Play's terms of service apply to your purchase and download.
Your licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use MileWorks on devices you own or control, for your own driving records and those of your household or business. You may not copy, resell, or reverse-engineer the app except as the law allows, or use it to break the law.
Your data stays yours
What you log stays on your phone. MileWorks has no account and no server that holds your log, so you are responsible for keeping a backup: Settings → Data → Your data → Export everything makes a file you can keep anywhere, and if you turn on the automatic backup (MileWorks Plus) the app keeps a daily copy on the phone and, on Android, in a folder you choose. We can't recover a log that was only on a lost or erased phone. How the app handles data is in the privacy policy.
Plans and subscriptions
- MileWorks Lite is free. MileWorks Plus and Pro are sold as subscriptions (monthly, every 6 months or yearly) and, for Pro, as a one-time purchase for life, through Apple or Google. The price and length are shown before you buy.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price and length until you cancel. You're charged within 24 hours before the end of each period. Cancel at least 24 hours before it ends to stop the next charge, in your Apple or Google account settings (not in the app); you keep the level until the end of the period you paid for.
- A free trial, when offered, becomes a paid subscription at its end unless you cancel before.
- Refunds. Purchases made through Apple are refunded by Apple under its rules (reportaproblem.apple.com); we can't issue those. On Google Play, Google refunds within 48 hours of buying; after that, email us at support@mileworks.app and we'll look at it under Google Play's rules.
- "For life" means for as long as we offer the app and that level; if we ever stop offering MileWorks, the app keeps working on your phone with what you've logged.
- If a subscription ends, nothing you've logged is deleted, and every export still has all of it. Some features pause until you subscribe again, as the support page explains.
Numbers are estimates, not advice
MileWorks works out fuel economy, costs, depreciation, loan figures, tax comparisons and other numbers from what you log and from public sources. They're estimates to help you keep track, not financial, tax, legal or mechanical advice:
- Taxes and reimbursement. The IRS, CRA and SAT figures, the standard-rate and actual-expense comparisons, the reimbursement report and the tax package are prepared from your log; check them with a tax professional before you file or claim anything.
- Official data. EPA ratings come from fueleconomy.gov, Canada's ratings from Natural Resources Canada, safety recalls from NHTSA, prices from the U.S. Energy Information Administration, Statistics Canada, the European Commission's Weekly Oil Bulletin, the UK's Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, Statistics Norway, New Zealand's Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment and Western Australia's FuelWatch, exchange rates from the European Central Bank (through Frankfurter) and, for a currency it doesn't publish that isn't fixed by law to one it does, from currency-api, and past temperatures from NASA's POWER project. We show them as published, they can be late or incomplete, and we don't control them.
- Safety recalls. The recall list is a convenience. It can miss a recall or show one that doesn't apply to your car: check your VIN at nhtsa.gov or with your dealer, and never rely on MileWorks for a safety decision.
- Driving. Don't use the app while driving. Log a fill-up or a trip once you've stopped.
Third-party services
Some features look things up with outside services (listed in the privacy policy). They have their own terms, may change or stop, and aren't ours; a feature that depends on one may stop working if it does.
Changes to the app and these terms
We may change, add or remove features. If we change these terms, we'll update the date above; for a change that matters to you, we'll say so in the app first. Using the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
No warranty
To the extent the law allows, MileWorks is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. If you got the app from the App Store and it fails to conform to any warranty that applies by law, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, MileWorks LLC isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or savings, arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for MileWorks in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you, and nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, except where the consumer law of the place you live gives you the right to bring a claim there under its law.
